Functional Yoga is a unique and fun private session. It fuses legendary yoga techniques from various yoga disciplines such as Vinyasa, Iyeangar, Kundalini, and Shivananda. These techniques are designed to streamline, firm, tighten and tone muscles and re-align the body without adding bulk. This helps to create balance, posture, body awareness, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. The result is a body that looks and moves 10 years younger!!
The structure of this innovative Yoga session is a series of full body engaged poses that are non-impact in nature. Each pose prepares you for the next one, allowing muscles to be worked and lengthened at their comfortable pace while simultaneously burning calories and fat and building “bulk-free” lean muscle mass. The techniques learned in the Yoga session will help to increase your resting metabolism so you continue to burn more calories and fat while you are at rest. Functional Yoga has minimal jumping and maximum pure lengthening and strengthening exercises which help to create the body of your dreams.
What is the general format of the Yoga sessions?
Depending on your level and goals, you will start with a warm-up and then perform a series of Yoga poses finishing with a meditation/guided visualization.
How long are the Yoga sessions?
All Yoga sessions are 55 minutes long. All sessions start and finish on time, so please be on time to receive the full benefit from your session.
How many Yoga sessions do you suggest a week?
For best results it’s recommended to take at least 2 sessions each week.
What age range is Yoga designed for?
Yoga is for all ages from teenagers and above.
What do I wear to Yoga?
All Yoga sessions are done in ToeSox (available for purchase for $15). Wear long leggings that reach your ankles and a top that covers your full back (no tanks or sleeveless shirts, please!). Bring a bottle of water and a large towel to place over a yoga mat (yoga mats provided).
